Further to the International Notice (no 869) sent 27th January, please be advised of the following:

All flights have now resumed and Operations are back to normal.


Please expect at least a 24-48 delay.

Winter Storm USA 27th January 2015

Applies to those customers who use DPD Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail.

 

Heavy snowfall continues to affect services to the USA.


Flights to New York this morning have been cancelled. We are working on contingency plans, however please expect delivery delays over the next couple of days.

 

The states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire are most affected.

 

We will continue to monitor the situation and update as more information becomes available.

Please be advised that heavy snowfall is expected this afternoon on the US North East coast. New York flights have been cancelled today.

 

Delivery delays are to be expected over the next couple of days.

Please be advised that, a winter storm has been causing hazardous conditions and potential delays in the North-eastern and Midwest regions of the United States. Delivery delays are to be expected.

Customs Controls - Norway June 2014

Applies to DPD Classic Customers only

 

Please be advised that due to an increase in customs controls on the German border, this may cause delays to deliveries in Norway.

 

Please be reminded of the following requirements:

  • Correct Value details on the Invoice
  • Where possible the commercial invoice should be used as opposed to the invoice template
  • In addition customers should be reminded of the following invoice requirements to avoid delivery delays and to ensure additional charges are not incurred
  • Address details for both shipper and receiver including contact information
  • Number of pieces and total weight.
  • Clear description of goods
  • Accurate goods value, shipping charges* and total value
  • Clear signature


*Shipping charges to Norway paid by the receiver must be shown on the invoice

Correct VAT or PID details on the invoice to Norway

The customer must clearly show a valid VAT or PID number on the invoice. A PID number must be provided for all B2C/private receivers.

Khat Classification June 2014

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic, Express, Direct and International Mail Services

 

From 24th June 2014, Khat will become a controlled class C drug under the misuse of drugs act 1971 and can not be exported without a home office licence. 

 

Khat is a herbal stimulant consisting of leaves, stems and shoots of the plant 'Catha Edulis' originating from the countries of Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia and Yemen.

 

Any items containing Khat will be held and may be destroyed or seized by customs

Ukraine Civil Unrest April 2014

Applies to those customers who use DPD Express and International Mail Services

 

Express:

Further to International Notice 805, please be advised that due to continuing civil unrest in the Crimea and Sevastopol, delays to parcel deliveries are to be expected

 

Mail:

Please note that mail has been temporarily suspended to the following areas:


Crimea - postcodes 95000-98999
Sevastopol - postcodes 99000-99999

 

The situation is being closely monitored and a further update will be communicated

Export Invoices January 2014

Please be advised of the following:

The value on the export invoice must be the transaction amount paid by the receiver to the shipper. 
If the receiver does not pay for the goods e.g. samples and gifts the declared value should be the same as the purchase value of the goods.

Where the receiver pays for the freight this must also be included in the value declared on the invoice.

Parcels with invoices which have incorrect values will be held at destination and may incur the following:-

  1. Additional duties and tax payments based on the actual value paid by the receiver
  2. Administration charges in validating the above Customs charges
  3. Delays in delivery whilst the parcel is Customs cleared

Canary Islands International Update September 2013

This is a reminder regarding the customs requirements for shipments being sent to the Canary Islands

Commercial / Proforma Invoices are mandatory

The invoices must contain the following mandatory information

  • Consignor and Consignees VAT registration numbers
  • Passport or ID card numbers if the consignment is addressed to a private individual
  • Name and Address of Consignor and Consignee
  • Full description of the goods
  • True value of the goods (in Euros)
  • Origin of the goods
  • Consignee Telephone Number

Failure to provide any part of this information will result in the shipment being held by Customs who will request a new invoice or in extreme cases automatically return the parcel to sender.

25/06/2013 - New Duty Payment Method for Switzerland

04/04/2013 - Tyres to Nordics

Please be reminded that it is prohibited to send un-boxed tyres to Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland

A maximum of 2 tyres per box can be sent, with the exception of Sweden where it is a maximum of 1 tyre per box

This is due to strict application of EU regulations by local health and safety authorities

Any cardboard box containing tyres must be within the size and weight restrictions:

Maximum Length: 175cm
Maximum Girth: 300cm
Girth = 2 x width (cm) + 2 x height (cm) + Length (cm)
Maximum Weight: 31.5k
