Account Managers

DPD has a large Customer Relationship department (CRM) that is responsible for maintaining our customer base and providing them with a value added account management service.


Our Account Managers have a designated portfolio of customers to retain and develop through proactive account management. They are responsible for developing multi-functional and multi-level business relationships within their customers' organisations and for identifying and developing any additional revenue opportunities within the portfolio.    

C&D Driver

Our Collection and Delivery Drivers drive either a Sprinter van or 7.5 tonne vehicle and ensure the effective transit of our customers' goods.  Drivers are responsible for planning their routes and for ensuring all deliveries are made within the expected service levels and within their one hour delivery window.


Our drivers are equipped with the latest hand-held technology with route optimisation and GPS and high quality vehicles to ensure they have the best possible tools to do the job. 


Our drivers are the ambassadors of our company. They are customer focused, with a "can do" attitude and they deliver amazing service to our customers every day.

Customer Service Agents

Our Customer Contact Centre has over 160 employees who handle approximately 10,000 incoming contacts, including 1500 emails.


Central Customer Services is critical to fulfilling our vision of customer centricity. Our approach has led us to win two top customer service awards so far in 2011:

 

  • Winners of the Customer Care Award at the Motor Transport Awards
  • Winners of the B2B category at the UK Customer Experience Awards


Our Engagement Agents provide a 'Best in Class' service to our customers by assisting them with their enquiries and any issues they might have. They take ownership, investigate and resolve to ensure the best possible delivery experience.


Our Response Agents provide assistance to our customers and their customers, and assist with queries and any issues they might have to provide a 'Best in Class' and timely service.

Depot Manager

Our Depot Managers essentially manage their own business unit.  As a member of one of six Network regions they are responsible for achieving their operational, financial, service and quality KPI's.


This role require many skills and the success of the depot will be dependant on the Depot Manager's ability to lead and inspire their employees.

 

Depot Shift Manager

Our Depot Shift Managers are responsible for ensuring our Warehouse and Delivery operations are run as efficiently and cost effectively as possible with the key focus always on delivering amazing service to our customers.


They are responsible for managing their teams in accordance with the Company HR, Health and Safety and Quality procedures. 


Being successful in this role opens up many career opportunities particularly when aided by a dedicated development programme for our critical first line operational managers.

Finance

As you would expect our Finance Department includes Payroll, Credit & Billing, Purchasing and Financial Accounting.  Below are details of some of the key roles.


Our Finance Managers ensure the accurate and timely completion of weekly and monthly management accounts and work with Senior Management in the production of forecasts and the annual Business Plan.


Our Payroll team processes a weekly and monthly payroll for over 4200 employees and are responsible for all statutory reporting of PAYE and year end processes.


Our Financial Accountants manage the technical and reporting requirements of all business information to external bodies and review internal policies and procedures through the internal audit function.

Hub Operations Manager

The DPD Superhub is based in the Midlands where over 200 million parcels a year are sorted.  It consists of a 27 acre site (bigger than 16 football pitches) and is the UK's most technologically advanced sortation facility.


Our Hub Operations Managers are responsible for keeping the Hub operation running to achieve their objectives in terms of service level, cost and productivity through the effective management of employees and the maintenance of company operating standards and ISO operating procedures.


They undertake varied projects and assist in the development of future plans and strategies.

IT

As an award winning industry leader in terms of technology our IT Department offers a challenging and rewarding career for anyone with the dedication and drive to succeed in all areas of IT including Development, Technical Support and Infrastructure.


Our Developers focus on providing innovative solutions to support the business strategy that keeps us ahead of the competition. The role requires them to research, design, document, and modify specifications throughout the production life cycle.


Our Technical Support team are responsible for the day to day running of the IT Infrastructure; its planning, management, implementation and technical support in line with service requirements.


IT Solutions Test Analyst's develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for the Information Technology Solutions Group within the business.  This includes writing test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes within solutions development.

Linehaul Roles

Our Linehaul department is responsible for ensuring our fleet of over 450 double and single deck trailers are in the right place at the right time with a professionally qualified driver at the wheel.


Our roles include Control Room Co-ordinators who oversee trailer movements on site through booking all routes on and off site, ensuring the hub is set up for the evening's sort.


Our Linehaul Planners are responsible for the planning the transportation of parcels between the Hubs and depots in the most efficient way and for analysing and manipulating the data available to report on the volumes of parcels to managers to enable the effective planning of resources.

Owner Driver Franchisee

If you have the enthusiasm, determination and ambition to be your own boss but would like the support of a large established company being an Owner Driver Franchisee for DPD really does offer the best of both worlds.


As an Owner Driver Franchisee you will be contracted to provide a collection and delivery service in your area. In return we can provide you with a 3.5T or 7.5T contract, Vehicle Leasing, excellent Stop Rates, automated 4-Week Billing and a uniform.

Sales Executive

Our Sales Executives are a team of highly motivated and driven individuals.  They are responsible for New Business sales across and for delivering the company's revenue target in line with the company's strategy for customer size, type and service mix.


Sales executives are responsible for sourcing their own prospects and identifying and pursuing major new business opportunities.

Warehouse Operative

Our Warehouse Operatives are a critical part of the distribution operation and generally work nights within each of our Network locations.  The key feature of this role is the loading and unloading of trailers either manually or mechanically as most locations are equipped with industry best sortation equipment.


Our Warehouse Operatives are also responsible for security scanning parcels into the depot and laying out the drivers routes ready for delivery that day.
