Company History

DPD began life as Courier Express in 1970 and became Parceline in 1984. In 1985 Parceline was bought by an Australian company Mayne Nickless, before later being bought by La Poste and becoming part of the GeoPost group of companies.

Known collectively as GeoPost UK, DPD UK, Interlink Express and Interlink Ireland are part of the GeoPost group, which is owned by the French group La Poste, the second largest postal group in Europe. 

GeoPost UK employs more than 4,000 people and has more than 5,000 customers and in excess of 2,000 vehicles.

  • DPD is based across 42 strategically located depots, spanning the length and breadth of the UK from Aberdeen to Cornwall and Kent
  • The DPD Hub is located between junctions 1 and 2 of the M5 in the West Midlands on a 27-acre site. The Hub can load and unload up to 200 trailers at a time and has the capacity to sort 45,000 parcels per hour using the latest tilt-tray technology
  • DPD made a recent investment of £12 million in a dedicated international area which will sort 50,000-plus parcels destined for 20 International destinations
  • In 2011 two purpose-built depots were added to our network, in Southall and Enfield
  • DPD maintains a clear focus on offering its customers reliable, high quality service both in the UK and internationally
  • DPD operates at a service level of approximately 99% success for on-time deliveries. Our "Predict" service, launched in 2010, is industry leading, allowing us to give customers a one-hour delivery window
