Introducing Saturn, the space age solution for today's distribution challenges

Saturn is the route control and signature capture system that puts DPD light years ahead of its competitors. As well as increasing the speed at which information can be passed to and from DPD's National Customer Service Centre (NCSC), Saturn also significantly enhances proof of delivery quality. What's more, with data integrity in excess of 99.75%, Saturn is a virtually flawless system.

How does it work?
On delivery, the driver will take the unit and the consignment to the recipient who will be asked to use a special pen to sign and print their name on the Saturn screen. The information is downloaded and transmitted to DPD's NCSC, providing fast, accurate proof of delivery information.

The use of electronic signature and handwriting recognition software allows Saturn to reproduce a perfect copy of the recipient's signature on the proof of delivery - which has a level of accuracy to match that of a fingerprint. Copies of the signature are available on the web.

• Address completion - Saturn has the ability to recreate incomplete addresses from the postcode, which means the delivery can still be made on time.
• Eliminating driver error - if the driver attempts to deliver an incorrect or incomplete consignment, Saturn indicates the error.

Ad-hoc collection requests - by creating an interface between the NCSC and the drivers, Saturn enables ad-hoc collection requests to be transmitted directly to the Saturn unit, saving time and telephone calls.
